Heirloom Stitchers Quilt Guild held the quilt show at the VFW hall in Cuero Texas. At the show, Charlotte Doehrman (left) won grand champion quilt project and Kaylee Jo Fisher (right) won reserve champion quilt project, at the recent Cuero Stockshow. 4-H Club helps out at pet shelter
With the local pet shelter and rescue currently housing more than 35 dogs and 25 cats - there is always lots of work and chores to be done daily. Recently the Meyersville 4-H Club came to the rescue and planned an “in house” service day to help out. The energetic team brought lots of cleaning supplies as well as pet food donations. Texas Farm Bureau DeWitt County Student of the Month for January is Sarah Rodriguez. Sarah is a Senior who was nominated by her school for demonstrating exceptional academic achievements, leadership skills, and being a great student. She will be attending Temple College to continue her volleyball career and pursue a Major in Communication Disorders to become a Speech Language Pathologist. The 2025 Miss Yorktown Court will be officially introduced at the February 24 Yorktown City Council meeting. The Western Days Association called off the pageant this year due to lack of contestants, but the judges interviewed each applicant on January 23 before naming the court. Ideally, each category would have at least two contestants. The entry window starts in late fall.
