How to get good dirt: start with soil test
How to get good dirt: start with soil test
As winter starts to turn to spring each year, I begin getting questions from ag producers and homeowners alike on what they should fertilize with and how much they should use. I usually answer them by asking them a series of questions to figure out their own personal situation, but the conversation usually ends with me recommending that they do some soil testing. Without knowing what the nutrient levels are in the soil, it is impossible for anyone to really know what to recommend. So, since we are 4-6 weeks out from optimum fertilizing time, I thought this would be the perfect time to discuss soil testing. 02/19/2025 04:38 AM

Hello my fellow Cueroites, Mr. Danny Rocha Jr. was given a retirement ceremony and a watch for his faithful service to the citizens of Cuero on January 23rd. Although a joyous occasion for the retiree, unfortunately the city loses experienced and highly skilled individuals. Mr. Rocha was a heavy equipment operator (backhoe), which takes years to master. 02/12/2025 11:05 AM

As I was going through some of my files from years ago, I came across a hard copy of an email I received in 2011. This was the year I retired from the newspaper industry and as I reread this email it struck me on how I had used my time over my years of life. Was my time more beneficial for me or was is it used in some way to help or maybe inspire someone else? 02/12/2025 11:05 AM
