Hello Cuero, The trial Ruby’s Race Day Pancake Breakfast was a huge success: 115 plates were served by 17 volunteers from across the Cuero Community. Many businesses donated items and funds to support the event, and next week I will recognize all who supported both events. Please come out this Saturday morning and get a pancake, sausage and drink of your choice. Serving will begin at 7:30 am at the Downtown walkway; 300 plates will be served; seating will be available to enjoy your meal. Clean Up Donations

This past weekend Keep Cuero Beautiful sponsored a city wide clean up event and invited “teams” of volunteers to pitch in and cover several areas of town. Trust Texas Cuero Bank employees signed up for the event and collected lots and lots of debris and then turned in their “haul” to be weighed. They were one of the three winning teams and their award was a $100 check. To make this a double/triple win they donated the check to Pet Adoptions of Cuero. The non profit shelter wins with funds to help their vet expenses, the City of Cuero won – all that trash picked up and the Trust Texas Bank staff won bragging rights for their efforts and dedication. With Jaxxon Marie out, the Gobblers are taking the next man up approach and have turned the offense over to Jayce Guajardo. Top state lawmakers plan to address soaring homeowners insurance premiums when they return to Austin in January for the next legislative session, according to the Houston Chronicle. Matthew Olguin has 10 of the 25 catches for the team and has amassed 97 receiving yards. Brody Metting has rushed 89 of the 206 carries for the team for a total of 843 rushing yards. Passing stats include Metting with a 51% completion percentage going 22/43 for an average 8.9 yards per catch for a total of 195 passing yards and 1TD. Brayden Knostman has passed with a 60% completion percentage and averages 9.0 per catch for a total 27 passing yards. Defensively, the team has 8 sacks, 137 solo tackles, 153 assisted tackles, and 4 interceptions.
