JOANN KENNEDY BRUMLEY
JoAnn Kennedy Brumley, 85 of Dinero, TX passed away on Tuesday, June 10th, 2025 at 11:00AM. She was born January 2nd, 1940 in Edgar, TX to the late Marvin and Lora Collins Kennedy. She graduated from Cuero High School in 1958 and went to Victoria Junior College. She attended First Baptist Church in Cuero, TX where she accepted Jesus as her Lord and Savior. She married Ken Brumley in 1958 and they resided in Victoria and Gregory-Portland, TX. She worked as an administrative assistant at Gregory-Portland and Victoria I.S.D and retired after 25 years of service.

Mayor back from Washington, ready to host Region 11 guests
Hello All, There’s no place like home. I just returned back from an eightday trip to Washington D.C. I met with our U.S. Representative Michael Cloud and Senator Ted Cruz, building bridges and letting our elected officials in Washington know we are here. Don't forget us. I also met with a firm who represents businesses and industries hoping to relocate to Texas with a promise of economic boosts to cities willing to work with them.

June 6, 2025 Number of Head: 1540 We had 155 cows, 25 bulls and 7 goats. The packer cows and bulls sold steady with last week’s figures.

Group wanted more access to congressman
Dear Editor, Thursday May 29thth was a Cloudy day in Cuero. But for most of us we had no opportunity to visit with US Congressman Michael Cloud. The Cuero Record reported that he had a busy day with Cuero elected officials, leaders from the Chamber, leaders from the Cuero Hospital, the Rotary Club and the Republican Party.

Legion Auxiliary honors veterans, helps students
On May 19, 2025, American Legion Auxiliary members placed flags on all military gravesites at four cemeteries in Westhoff for Memorial Day. Sue Hilbrich provided 135 flags that were distributed to the cemeteries. Those who put out flags were Cheryl Bunjes, Cindy Burnett, Kristye Kahlich, Ruth Killough, Melinda Weikel, and Terri Boothe.

VFW Roof Donation
Cuero’s VFW, Post 3972, installed a new roof earlier this year, costing approximately $60,000. To help with those costs, the Cuero Economic Development Corporation donated $10,000 to the post members on Thursday, June 12. Groups explain needs for HOT funds
City Council heard from local groups about their 2025 applications for Hotel Occupancy Tax funds at the June 9 regular meeting and approved a resolution for a $4.2 million sidewalk project. Mayor Pro Tem Mitch Adams led the council meeting in the absence of Mayor Emil Garza.
