John Ketten May
John Ketten May
John Ketten May went to be with his Lord and Savior on January 8, 2025. His life story is one of hard work, dedication, and a deep connection to the land he loved. Born in Cuero on October 9, 1965, to Wesley and Julia May, he grew up in the country where his love for land, cattle, and heavy machinery blossomed. From a young age, John displayed a strong entrepreneurial spirit. At just 17, he took a major step by purchasing a John Deere tractor, beginning his journey as a self-employed farmer, rancher, and dozer operator. He never shied away from hard work, always striving to provide for his family and proudly maintaining his strong work ethic. Whether it was clearing brush in De-Witt County, working in the oil field, operating heavy machinery on highway construction, or running his own multi-million dollar hay operation that he jokingly referred to as a “nonprofit,” John was always giving his best. His commitment to his work and his ability to make people laugh with his humor were integral parts of who he was. John's legacy as a man who loved his work and his family will surely be remembered by all who knew him. 01/22/2025 08:55 PM

Hello Cuero, It's Sunday, January 19, 4:51 p.m., and I just got off a Zoom call with city, county, first responders and school district officials. The topic of discussion was the impending winter weather. It's coming and we are preparing for any emergencies which may occur. I am so proud of all our leadership who come together during the year and especially during times of crisis. 01/22/2025 08:55 PM

If dogs could talk
We all would love it if they could and we are sure they would have a lot to say. In the meantime here's some comments some of the canines at Pet Adoptions of Cuero spoke up about recently: 'Hi I'm NAPOLEON - a 12 pound Pomeranian mix ready for a family looking for a small dog like me. I am potty trained - just be sure to let me out a couple of times a day and if you have some kids I can play with - let's GO! But I also like seniors - a lady or gent with a warm lap would be great - come meet me soon at PAOC'. 01/22/2025 08:55 PM
