Whose grandfather was a privateer during the American Revolution? Whose father went on surveying trips with George Washington? Whose father fought in the War of 1812 under Andrew Jackson in New Orleans? Whose home in DeWitt County was a refuge for settlers during Indian attacks? What 15-year old left the Alamo the day before it fell with a message for Col Fannin? What Alamo defender has a Dewitt County creek named for him? GOD first....Heavenly Father, though we strive to always do the right thing, we know that our sins will be forgiven if they are made with a heart willing to learn and to grow. By forgiving us, You free us to be who we are, warts and all, always knowing that we are loved no matter how we mess up. We give thanks and ask for Your blessings the name of our Savior, Jesus. Amen.
