Electronic records streamline wheels of justice
The wheels of justice in DeWitt County weigh a lot less these days with the conversion of files to electronic formats. Prior to 2025, all cases on the 24th Judicial District Attorney’s docket were paper copies. On a typical day in court, there can be as many as 120 cases, which in the past required stacks of records several feet high. 05/27/2025 02:15 PM

MAY 16, 2025 NUMBER OF HEAD: 1292 Packer cows and bulls were consistent with last week’s prices. The cattle futures board dropped $6-7 the last few days which caused some fluctuations. Lighter cattle took the biggest hit in both classes. However, overall the market was fairly steady with last week’s numbers. Even with the futures board dropping this week, the market is still great. With the Mexican border closing, we anticipate cattle prices to rise. 05/27/2025 02:15 PM

Dear Editor, I look forward to receiving my online edition of the Cuero Record every Wednesday morning, and the May 21 edition was full of very interesting stories and information. I want to thank the Record staff for providing outstanding service to the community at a very reasonable cost. I realize occasional mistakes are inevitable, and it is not my intention to be critical of any reporters or editors. The story in “RecordSports” about Brad Goebel and his induction into the Texas High School Hall of Fame was very well written; however, a couple small errors could have been avoided with a little homework. I am not knowledgeable enough about newspaper proofreading and editing of local events to be overly judgmental or constructive. However, it would have been beneficial, in this instance, if someone with local knowledge could have proofread the story prior to its publication. Thank you again for keeping our community informed with your great service. 05/27/2025 02:15 PM

As we look around this old world today, many of us see the changes brought on by the progressive movement. It seems to be a period of time when people are turning to scientific methods of why the world is the way it is now and seem to forget that God made the world. 05/27/2025 02:15 PM
