Texans’ right to free speech is under attack…again
Texans’ right to free speech is under attack…again
Americans’ right to speak their minds is considered sacred, which is why we must fight to protect the First Amendment of the U.S. Constitution and the Texas Citizens Participation Act. Both measures were carefully written with protection of the individual — the “little guy” — in mind. They’re designed to give a David a fighting chance if he finds himself in a legal duel with a Goliath. 10/02/2024 12:46 PM

McLeods to the rescue: Couple helps Opal the sheep dog
Recently some longtime Pet Adoptions of Cuero supporters, Milt and Kathy McLeod arrived at the Highway 183 shelter with a lovely dog. It had obviously been abandoned on an out of town country road. Unfortunately this is becoming the norm across the state – dogs, puppies, kittens – all dumped on country roads with no chance of survival unless a compassionate human happens to discover them. 09/25/2024 01:11 PM

Brush up on volume formula to get correct amount of hay
Brush up on volume formula to get correct amount of hay
Because most of this region received substantial rainfall in June, July, and August, hay supplies in this part of the state are as good as it’s been in a while. However, September has been hot and dry so far and we all know that winter is just around the corner, so folks should soon be making plans for supplemental hay feeding. While a lot of cattle producers put up their own hay supply, many rely solely on buying hay to fill that need. 09/25/2024 01:11 PM

Undefeated and then some: 1974 season established Cuero’s dynasty
Last week we included the description of Coach Gilbreath’s first two years with the Gobblers. In addition to arduous off-season training, Gilbreath “resolved to field the very best athletes – period. It didn’t matter the color of your skin, whether your parents were employees of the school, whether your father was the mayor or president of the school board - if an athlete came in with the proper attitude, had sufficient knowledge of the game, was physically up to the challenges of his program, and was willing to contribute as a team player, he could be a starter.” 09/25/2024 01:11 PM
