A Message from the Mayor Emil Garza
Message from the Mayor
Hello my fellow Cueroites, The weekend was beautiful, the week was busy, however fun and the trip to the Texas State Capitol on Saturday April 12 was awesome. A mix of participants, the Citizens Police Academy Alumni, the Mayors Youth Council and some Cuero residents toured the Capitol grounds and attended a Capitol tour of the interior to include both legislative chambers, the Senate and the House of Representatives. The bus even made a detour to downtown Austin, so a citizen could get a photo with the Willie Nelson statue, made his day!!! Please keep in mind next year as there were still 25 seats unfi lled, I was disappointed. 04/16/2025 02:17 PM

DeWitt County designated disaster area for drought by USDA
This Secretarial natural disaster designation allows the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) Farm Service Agency (FSA) to extend much-needed emergency credit to producers recovering from natural disasters through emergency loans. Emergency loans can be used to meet various recovery needs including the replacement of essential items such as equipment or livestock, reorganization of a farming operation, or to refinance certain debts. FSA will review the loans based on the extent of losses, security available, and repayment ability. 04/16/2025 02:17 PM

Hope new highway worth all the trouble
GOD first...Heavenly Father, help us to put away the wrinkles of sorrow, scorn, and hate with lines of happy smiles of joy and happiness as we celebrate in knowing that our Savior has been released from death so that we may also be renewed like Him through His sacrifice. We ask in Jesus' name. Amen. 04/16/2025 02:17 PM

Paxton challenges Cornyn for senate seat
Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton made it official last week, announcing he will challenge U.S. Sen. John Cornyn in next March’s Republican primary. The fireworks already have begun, the Austin American-Statesman reported, with Cornyn calling his rival “a con man and a fraud.” Paxton, for his part, said he is running to “fight for President Trump’s agenda and take a sledgehammer to the D.C. establishment.” He accused Cornyn of being insufficiently loyal to Trump. 04/16/2025 02:17 PM

Strength comes from God By Gary Andrews [email protected] How many of us really rely on our faith in God to get us through difficult situations? I know I have called on Him many times and He has given me insight to handle problems that I have encountered. Many will say this is foolishness, but I will tell you my faith in Him grows stronger and stronger because I know He lives and gives me strength to handle anything. 04/16/2025 02:17 PM
