What do you call a pup that has the body of a wiener but is also a winner, winner, winner? We named him 'OSCAR' – like the hot dog – and also OSCAR, like a well known prestigious award. This little guy is six months old, has a long low body, short stubby legs and paws. He is even a reddish brown like your favorite hot dog. Concerns raised for person unhoused by demolition
The City of Yorktown got serious about cleaning up substandard properties this year, taking dozens of structures through the legal process of notification, inspection, condemnation and demolition. Now that many of the properties have been cleared, concerns for the human impact to persons unhoused by the process have been raised, as well as how some properties were chosen, while other housing, which appears in worse condition, was not. 06/10/2025 11:21 AM

On a 93º cloudy day, with a gentle breeze weaving through the air, the Downtown Cuero Artisan Market came alive under the Cuero Municipal Library Pavilion on May 24.
