CRH recognizes Men’s Health Month, encourages screenings
June marks Men’s Health Month and Hernia Awareness Month, and Cuero Health is urging men in our community to take charge of their health by scheduling routine visits with their primary care providers and staying up to date with recommended screenings. In honor of Men’s Health Month, Cuero Health will host their annual Men’s Health Golf Tournament on June 14th at the Cuero Municipal Golf Course to share important health topics, and enjoy a round of golf with health professionals.

Cuero Livestock Commission
MAY 16, 2025 NUMBER OF HEAD: 1292 Packer cows and bulls were consistent with last week’s prices. The cattle futures board dropped $6-7 the last few days which caused some fluctuations. Lighter cattle took the biggest hit in both classes. However, overall the market was fairly steady with last week’s numbers. Even with the futures board dropping this week, the market is still great. With the Mexican border closing, we anticipate cattle prices to rise.

COLLEGE STATION, Texas – Texas A&M Forest Service is offering cost shares for Texas landowners to suppress the spread of oak wilt through the Texas Oak Wilt Suppression Program. Eligible oak wilt suppression practices through this program include trenching or removal of infected red oak trees.

Electronic records streamline wheels of justice
The wheels of justice in DeWitt County weigh a lot less these days with the conversion of files to electronic formats. Prior to 2025, all cases on the 24th Judicial District Attorney’s docket were paper copies. On a typical day in court, there can be as many as 120 cases, which in the past required stacks of records several feet high.

Silver advances to International Regency Pageant
Patricia Silver, a resident of Yorktown, was crowned the 2025 Classic Texas Regency International winner at the state finals held at the Hilton Garden Inn Houston NW/Willowbrook on April 27. She will advance to represent Texas at the upcoming Regency International Pageant this summer in San Antonio.

Tea Collection unveiled in CHM new Genealogy Room
The Cuero Heritage Museum held a ribbon- cutting ceremony on May 21 to celebrate the opening of the new Genealogy Room and a permanent exhibit featuring The Patti Giles Collection of English Tea Pots and Biscuit Jars. This collection was donated by Mr. Giles in honor of his wife, Patti.
