(December 17, DALLAS) – For those hitting the road ahead of Christmas or getting last minute gifts, Santa has delivered. Teacher inspires students to examine American history

Yorktown secondary teacher Ellen Yosko was named the Yorktown Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) Post 8136 Teacher of the Year. The award was announced by Mrs. Rachel Robinson, the President of the Yorktown Ladies Auxiliary VFW Post 8136 on December 12. Ellen (Skloss) Yosko is a native of Stockdale. She graduated from Stockdale High School in 2011 and went on to graduate from Texas A&M-San Antonio in 2016 with a Bachelor’s Degree in English. She has taught at Yorktown Junior High for all of her seven years of teaching. She currently teaches art, writing and English Language Arts, where she has been instrumental in molding young Yorktown writers to examine American history, along with their own experiences in modern America, when they participate in the annual Patriot’s Pen essay competition.
