Santa brings Christmas cheer; lowest season’s gas prices since 2020
(December 17, DALLAS) – For those hitting the road ahead of Christmas or getting last minute gifts, Santa has delivered. Motorists will likely see a national average price of gas of $2.95 per gallon on Christmas, the lowest we’ve seen on Christmas Day since 2020, according to GasBuddy, the leading fuel savings platform saving North American drivers the most money on gas. 12/26/2024 03:33 PM

After proclaiming the City of Cuero a Tourism Friendly Community, City Council went into a lengthy executive session at its special meeting on December 19. Teacher inspires students to examine American history
Yorktown secondary teacher Ellen Yosko was named the Yorktown Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) Post 8136 Teacher of the Year. The award was announced by Mrs. Rachel Robinson, the President of the Yorktown Ladies Auxiliary VFW Post 8136 on December 12. Ellen (Skloss) Yosko is a native of Stockdale. She graduated from Stockdale High School in 2011 and went on to graduate from Texas A&M-San Antonio in 2016 with a Bachelor’s Degree in English. She has taught at Yorktown Junior High for all of her seven years of teaching. She currently teaches art, writing and English Language Arts, where she has been instrumental in molding young Yorktown writers to examine American history, along with their own experiences in modern America, when they participate in the annual Patriot’s Pen essay competition. Through mid-December, the popular spawning and genetics research program had taken in 3,856 entries between 8 and 18.18 pounds.
