Patient gets great care in Cuero ER
Dear Editor, Born and raised in Cuero, as a former resident, I was visiting Cuero a few weeks ago and suddenly developed an emergency medical issue. Upon arrival to Cuero ER, I was greeted with kindness and respect.

Hope new highway worth all the trouble
GOD first...Heavenly Father, help us to put away the wrinkles of sorrow, scorn, and hate with lines of happy smiles of joy and happiness as we celebrate in knowing that our Savior has been released from death so that we may also be renewed like Him through His sacrifice. Paxton challenges Cornyn for senate seat
Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton made it official last week, announcing he will challenge U.S. Sen. John Cornyn in next March’s Republican primary. The fireworks already have begun, the Austin American-Statesman reported, with Cornyn calling his rival “a con man and a fraud.” Paxton, for his part, said he is running to “fight for President Trump’s agenda and take a sledgehammer to the D.C. establishment.” He accused Cornyn of being insufficiently loyal to Trump.

Appeals court: TEA can release A-F school ratings
A judge with the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals ruled last week that the Texas Education Agency can release its 2023 A-F school accountability ratings, the Houston Chronicle reported. The ruling overturned a district judge’s injunction after more than 120 school districts sued to stop TEA from releasing the ratings.

Are you a preacher, prosecutor, politician or scientist?
My instinct is to prosecute. My wife didn’t force me to write that, but she would agree. I tend to look for what’s wrong with others’ approaches. In my defense, I read and research a lot, so my intent is to be a scientist. But in the heat of the moment, instinct can be overwhelming.

Senate backs prayer time, Ten Commandments in classrooms
The Texas Senate last week passed a bill to allow school districts to set aside time for in-school prayer and gave initial approval to requiring all schools to post a copy of the Ten Commandments in every classroom.

Dear Editor, Members of the Lindenau Rifle Club (Dance Hall) would like to thank the community for their support for our recent fundraiser, the Spring Chicken BBQ. It takes many dedicated folks to make this event a success, and we appreciate each and every one; those who get the word out, those who sell presale tickets, and those who do the labor-intensive preparations. All proceeds enable us to preserve the dancehall for all to enjoy.

Texas farmers concerned over growing trade war
Texas farmers are voicing growing concerns about tariffs being enacted by President Trump adversely affecting their ability to sell agricultural goods overseas, the Houston Chronicle reported. Texas Farm Bureau President Russell Boening said the tariffs could be especially tough on younger farmers.
