Hello my fellow Cueroites It's been a few weeks since my last message. To say I have been busy is an understatement. Velma and I took a much needed break with a 10day cruise to Central America, November 1525. We visited Cozumel, Costa Rica, Panama and Honduras. Although I enjoyed the visit to our neighbors south of us, I was reminded how blessed we are in our United States. I ran into a couple from Gonzales as we traversed the Panama Canal, which was breathtaking. Both commented on how much they love Cuero, Turkeyfest, Christmas in the Park, Cuero Christmas downtown were a few of the events we talked about. I also met a couple from Waco, and of course the Cuero Gobblers was the talk of this conversation, as Cuero has had many Cuero Gobblers play for the Baylor Bears. I am so PROUD of our Cuero Gobbler team this year. Although the season has ended, the many memories, lessons learned and representations of the City of Cuero will last a lifetime. The DeWitt County Sheriffs Office will again be sponsoring the Deputy Santa Program for the needy children of this county. The last 27 years that Deputy Santa has been in operation have been a great success. We have helped so many needy children in our county have a wonderful, merry Christmas. We wish to continue to provide for the needy children throughout DeWitt County. Our efforts have taken us from one end of the county to the other and throughout all of our communities.
