May’s Mental Health Awareness Month provides help
On May 27th, Mental Health Awareness Month began at Cuero Football Stadium. Cuero ISD and the Pilot Club of Cuero hosted this event as part of the S.T.O.P. initiative, which aims to raise awareness about mental health and suicide prevention. S.T.O.P. is a step-by-step approach designed to support individuals who may be struggling with their mental health. It encourages participants to Stay present, Take action, Open your mind, and Practice compassion.

Luncheon highlights strong future of Ag industry
The next generation of ag producers were highlighted at the third annual Cuero Chamber of Commerce Ag Luncheon on April 23. So naturally, A&M’s Vice Chancellor & Dean for Agriculture & Life Sciences was tapped as its keynote speaker. Also, the labeling threats to the American beef industry were outlined by a speaker from the Independent Cattleman’s Association.

Emmy the Green Cow has a new home in front of Cuero's Pecan House Cafe. She has been missing from her original home on Main Street since the end of March when the creamery bearing her name closed.

Friends of Nordheim hosts 38th Annual Easter Egg Hunt
The Friends of Nordheim held their 38th Annual Easter Egg Hunt on the grounds of the Nordheim Jubilee Park on Saturday, April 19. Hunters, ages preschool to fourth grade, registered for door prizes and hunted for more than 2,462 plastic eggs.

State offers Sales Tax Holiday for emergency supplies

School Board election
At the Candidate Forum on April 16, Mary Jane Henson, on the ballot for District 1 Cuero ISD School Board, could not attend due to a family issue. Sean Douglas, who is running for the same position, was present and shared his ideas with the voters in attendance. He said he has always asked a lot of questions and that is what he can bring to the school board meetings. The April 19 edition of The Cuero Record included both candidates’ statements.
