District works on ag barn safety improvements
In order to secure the safety of ag students, the school board plans to use unassigned funds to renovate the Stock Show Barn. At the April 14 regular meeting, the board took those discussions into closed session but made no decisions on the work. Former constable arrested
Former constable arrested
On April 17, Kelly Phelps, a former DeWitt County constable, was arrested by the Texas Rangers, according to the DeWitt County Sheriff’s office. The charges were tampering with a government record and abuse of official capacity. He was released on a $50,000 bond.
