French building, I read a proclamation professing the City of Cuero’s support for the month of April, Child Abuse Awareness month. Pinwheels and cutouts were placed along the road indicating the number of Children in the surrounding area in need of prayers and support, no names were broadcasted. Next Saturday April 12, a chartered bus will depart from Cuero City Park enroute to the Texas State Capitol in Austin, participants will be touring the State Capitol interior, as well as the exterior grounds. The event is part of the Cuero Citizens Police academy currently underway; class participants visit the Fallen Offi cers Memorial located on the Capitol grounds; this year I will be taking members of the Mayors Youth Council along. As of this writing there are still 25 seats available, first come first serve for this free event, if interested please call the Cuero Chamber of Commerce at 361-2752112 for sign up, I need names and numbers by Thursday April 10, the bus ride is free, please bring money for lunch and purchase of items desired from the Capitol gift shop, the bus will stop on the way back at a place to eat. Moments at the Show
We were fortunate to have photographers Toby Fournet and Ele Chew capture these moments at last month’s Cuero Livestock Show, starting with the horse show competitions and ending with the homemaking wares. As impressive as the photos are, it is the young competitors putting forth their best efforts who steal the show. Congratulations to all 4-H and FFA youth in the 76th Cuero Livestock Show.
