In late February, an elderly Cuero Resident was contacted and told that one of her financial accounts was compromised. The scammers told the victim that they would have to make a deposit to cover the financial loss. They then made arrangements with the victim for a courier to pick up a large sum of money from their address. A courier arrived and the victim gave them a large amount of money in cash.
