League seeks nominations for local women who shape communities
League seeks nominations for local women who shape communities
Each March, the League of Women Voters of South Central Texas celebrates Women's History Month by recognizing special women in our community. In 2023, the League recognized the eight women serving as mayors of our South Central Texas towns. In 2024, they invited area high school students to recognize women who had touched their lives with poems and essays. In response to these events, many have told the League how important it is to share and celebrate the inspiring stories of local women and their contributions to our communities. These stories - too often untold - remind women of today and future generations that their voices and stories are vital to our collective history. 12/18/2024 06:57 PM

Help wanted: Christmas in the Park needs nativity volunteers
Hello All, Congratulations are in order for the Stevenson Unit, who achieved an excellent rating in their American Correctional Accreditation (ACA) audit, last week. I met with ACA auditors who praised the Stevenson Unit staff and the City of Cuero community support. On Thursday 12/12, I welcomed Foster Families from the Golden Crescent area to Cuero at the Chisholm Trail Heritage Museum. Shout out to Ms. Viola Holman and volunteers for putting together an awesome event, to include Angels with lighted wings and the Yorktown school band playing Christmas music. The City of Cuero’s Christmas dinner at the Venue on 12/12 was enjoyed by all. I am proud of each city employee and the work they do 365 days a year for the Citizens of Cuero. 12/18/2024 06:57 PM
