Daniel Lee Machacek, 57, of Cuero passed away Saturday, November 9, 2024. He was born October 15, 1967 in Patuxent River, Maryland to Joan Catherine Koehler Machacek and the late Anton David Machacek. Daniel married Anna Marie Lopez on September 8, 2012 in Goliad. He was a Senior Master Technician, and worked for Aztec Ford, formerly VonDohlen Motor Co. of Goliad from 1988 to 2021. Robert Douglas (Bob) Wood died Saturday, Nov. 9, 2024 at the age of 89. He was born Sept. 12, 1935 in Goliad, Texas to Augustus Douglas Wood and Marye Frances Wilkinson Wood. He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Elena Wood, and his wife, Mary Frances Hessong Wood. John C French Elementary sponsored an Anti- Bullying Poster Contest for all students. They participated during art class and created posters promoting kindness, encouraging students to be “upstanders”’ and encouraging everyone to treat others with respect. The Cuero City Council implemented stricter guidelines to minimize the abuse of its Spay and Neuter Voucher Program at its regular meeting on November 12. Gobblers face tricky offense in next playoff
The Cuero Gobblers (83) have advanced to the area round of the UIL Playoffs, where they will face a familiar opponent – the Geronimo Navarro Panthers (5-6) – on Friday at 7 p.m. at Eschenburg Field in Floresville.
