School board focuses on student improvement
Yorktown’s elementary and secondary principals reported the progress and goals of their students at the July 15 regular meeting of the Yorktown ISD School Board. When I was going through basic training for the Air Force I was the only one that didn’t qualify on the firing range. My flight along with our sister flight marched quite a distance to the range during the hot July Sun. I am not making excuses just a bad shot that day. Our assignment was to fire semi-automatic rifles and hit a target 100 yards away. Yorktown students travel through history
From June 1 to June 7, 2024, 17 Yorktown students, parents, a grandparent and a teacher were part of an educational tour of Washington, DC, along with a group from Cuero Junior High. The group was led by Sean Douglas, a teacher in Cuero, and Coach Val Acree, a teacher and coach in Yorktown.
