Good things for Cuero’s youth in water and out
Good things for Cuero’s youth in water and out
Hello All I attended the ribbon cutting to the new splash pad at Alexander Park this past Thursday, Sept 5th. It was so refreshing to see the smiles and hear the laughs of joy coming from the children enjoying getting wet and cooling off from the summer heat. The event was well attended, including members of the Cuero City Council, the City Manager, Park superintendent, the Chamber of Commerce, the Cuero Development Corporation and the former Mayor, Sarah Post Meyer to name a few. 09/11/2024 08:34 PM

The Dueser Reunion was held on September 1 at the Yorktown Fire Station. A covered dish and dessert was brought by each family, and the desserts were delicious. After Lunch we enjoyed playing bingo, and winners both young and old were given gifts. Approximately 40 people attended. The farthest that came were Walter, Myrtle and Tamisha Farmer from Hearne, Texas. Dorthy Dueser Brown was the oldest member and Henry Dueser, son of Mr. and Mrs. George Dueser, was the youngest. 09/11/2024 08:34 PM

9/11: A Call to Service - of any kind
September 11, 2001, fundamentally changed the world. Those who remember can recall exactly where they were and what they were doing. America had not faced such a daring attack on her homeland since Pearl Harbor in 1941. Nearly 3,000 Americans lost their lives with thousands injured suffering longterm health effects, including post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). 09/11/2024 08:34 PM

Going back into my archives I pulled up a story that had slipped my memory for many years. Someone had sent me an email about a young child traveling with his mother down the interstate. It was raining at a steady pace and the windshield wipers were working great moving the rain away. 09/04/2024 01:25 PM
