Kitty Kats, Wildcats see seasons end in hard-fought battles
The Yorktown Kitty Kats and Wildcats saw their basketball seasons come to an end, as the Kitty Kats fell in the bi-district round to Agua Dulce, while the Wildcats wrapped up district play with a home loss to Three Rivers.

Lady Gobblers win regionals, head to state semi finals
The Cuero Lady Gobblers showcased sheer determination and skill as they faced off against the Sinton Lady Pirates and Navarro Lady Panthers in two decisive playoff matchups last week. With the wins, the team moves onto the State Semi-Finals, a first in CHS history for Lady Gobbler basketball.

It may have been a cold, nasty, wet and messy day outside last week, but it was just the opposite inside Cuero Nursing and Rehab Center. Thanks to the cute fur babies that Pet Adoptions of Cuero brought for an afternoon visit in celebration of February's National Pet Adoption Day.

Lady Gobblers head to regional semis
It’s playoff time and the Cuero Lady Gobblers had no trouble coming through when they needed to. They rose to the challenge in a bi-district game versus Carrizo Springs, on February 10 with ease, trouncing the Wildcats 69-40 and squared up versus the Wimberley Texans on Thursday, Feb. 13, coming out on top 58-40, making them Area Champions. Thursday night’s game made it 17 straight on the winning side for the Lady Gobblers.

Kitty Kats punch ticket to playoffs
After a one-year absence, the Yorktown Kitty Kats are back in the playoffs, clinching a berth with a thrilling 52-43 victory over the Kenedy Leopards in a fourth-place tiebreaker last Friday night. Yorktown and Kenedy entered the final week of District 312A play deadlocked at 8-6, setting up a mustwin showdown.

Lady Gobblers Head into Season Opener
The Lady Gobbler Softball team has finished up their scrimmages and are ready to battle it out this season. The Lady Gobblers kick off their season on Tuesday, February 11 at home versus Ganado. Coach Cody Miller commented “Our scrimmages have been productive. After graduating five seniors last year, it has allowed us to work with kids at positions that need to be filled. We are young, but we are really excited the direction our team is going.” Head out to support the Lady Gobblers at 5 and 7.

Remarkable debut
Senior Cameron Willis made his debut at the STPGA Jr tournament at the Gabe Lozano Golf Course in Corpus Christi, winning the title with a remarkable performance. Willis shot a 75, navigating the course with precision, hitting accurate drives and sinking crucial putts. His ability to maintain focus under pressure bodes well for his progress in upcoming STPGA Jr tournaments, as well as in the upcoming YISD golf team season.

Kitty Kats, Wildcats both in fourth place
The Yorktown Kitty Kat Varsity basketball team has lost two of its last games to drop to fourth place with a 7-4 record in District 312A, while the Wildcats also lost two of three and dropped to 4-5 in district play and are in a three-way tie for fourth place.
