Hello All Congratulations to Councilman-at-Large Adam Arroyo on his re-election. I look forward to continuing our work together. Congratulations are in order for Mr. Charles Tounley, who was elected as Councilman- at-Large, filling the vacancy by Councilman Bill Matthy’s, who decided not to run for another term. Bill served the Citizens of Cuero for 17 years, the City of Cuero owes Bill a huge debt of gratitude. I personally am going to miss his wit and wisdom. He served as Mayor Pro Tem for 14 years under 3 successive Mayors. Within the last year the Council has/will lose 31 years of historical experience with the departure of past Mayor Sarah Post Meyer, who served for 14 years and Councilman Matthy’s with 17 years. Time goes on, I am proud of the current council make up and look forward to working with our newest Councilmen. Melvin Ray Borgfeld

Melvin Ray Borgfeld was born on April 15, 1939, in Weesatche, TX, to his parents, Ruben and Elorene Borgfeld. He went to be with our Lord on April 28, 2025, in San Antonio, TX, surrounded by his family at the age of 86 years old. Melvin grew up in Yorktown, TX on a farm with his family, which taught him hard work and dedication. He graduated from Yorktown High School in 1958. He enjoyed being on his ranch in Blanco, TX, barbecuing, motorcycles and cars, taking road trips, being at the beach, tubing on the river and spending quality time with his family. 05/07/2025 11:28 AM
