Shiner Gaslight Gift Vouchers (formerly Season Tickets) are on sale for the 2025 productions. Each voucher is $105 and is good for 3 tickets for the 2025 season. Nordheim FFA Stock Show kicks off this month
The Nordheim FFA Stock Show will be held on Saturday, January 25, at the Nordheim FFA Show Barn. The market judging and breeding animal showing will begin at 9:00 AM. Currently, there are 13 Cattle entries, 19 Lambs, 18 Goats, and 9 hogs, for a total of 59 animal projects. The premium auction will begin at 2:00 PM. The Nordheim FFA Stock Show is a 501( c ) (3), so all donations are tax-deductible. The Nordheim School Food, Art, Craft, and Models Show will be happening in the Main Building across the street. The Grand, Reserve, Blue-Ribbon Foods, Art and Crafts will sell at the conclusion of the animal sale. The MODELS will not sell. 01/02/2025 11:37 AM

Gobbler senior Conner Kubesch earned the distinguished rank of Elite Team in this year’s Texas High School Coaches Association’s academic all-state football team. Justin Wigley of Huntington has shot some really nice bucks over the years, but none to compare to the bruiser of a whitetail that came calling on the afternoon of Nov. 3. It was the bewitching hour — roughly 20 minutes before sunset. First responders, including Cuero FD, Cuero Volunteer FD, Yoakum Volunteer FD, Yorktown Volunteer FD, Cuero PD (traffic control), DeWitt County Emergency Management, TDEM, Cuero EMS, Texas Gas and City of Cuero Utilities, were called to a house fire at 512 E. Walkers get in shape at Hillside Cemetery
On Christmas eve, Kaye Kahlich walked her dog at Hillside Cemetery. This cemetery serves not only families visiting their loved ones, but also dog walkers, joggers, and of course, deer. The graves have been adorned with flowers and flags in celebration of the Christmas holidays. Many people have started coming to the cemetery for their daily exercise while the usual walking trail at City Park is in full swing with “Christmas in the Park” festivities. 01/02/2025 11:37 AM

John P Hesse, 95, passed away Friday, December 20, 2024. He was born November 1, 1929 in Cuero, Texas to Percy Vernon and Bertha Hadamek Hesse. After serving a brief stint in the United States Navy, he returned to Cuero and married Marie (Polly) Saenz then moved to Sugarland.
