The Yorktown Kitty Kats and Wildcats Varsity Basketball teams hosted Woodsboro on January 14, 2025, in District 31-2A action and delivered decisive victories to extend their district winning streaks to three games. The assistance program, called STEAR, that helps those with mobility or communication problems during disasters was explained by County Emergency Coordinator Billy Jordan to the DeWitt County Commissioners at their regular meeting on January 13. Karen Elaine Lewis, 75, of Cuero passed away Friday, January 10, 2025. She was born June 20, 1949 in Beaumont to Woodrow Copeland and Elaine Bond. She married Joseph “Jay” Lewis in June of 1990 in Tyler. Kay proudly held the title of first female president for the Cuero Lions Club.
