Kitty Kats punch ticket to playoffs

After a one-year absence, the Yorktown Kitty Kats are back in the playoffs, clinching a berth with a thrilling 52-43 victory over the Kenedy Leopards in a fourth-place tiebreaker last Friday night. Lady Gobblers Head into Season Opener

The Lady Gobbler Softball team has finished up their scrimmages and are ready to battle it out this season. The Lady Gobblers kick off their season on Tuesday, February 11 at home versus Ganado. Coach Cody Miller commented “Our scrimmages have been productive. After graduating five seniors last year, it has allowed us to work with kids at positions that need to be filled. Senior Cameron Willis made his debut at the STPGA Jr tournament at the Gabe Lozano Golf Course in Corpus Christi, winning the title with a remarkable performance. Willis shot a 75, navigating the course with precision, hitting accurate drives and sinking crucial putts. Gobblers fall to LaVernia in district showdown

On a cool Wednesday evening last week, Cuero fans made their way to LaVernia for an exciting showdown in District 284A. The Gobbler basketball team went head-tohead against the Bears, both teams entering the contest undefeated in district and full of adrenaline to come out on top. However, when the final buzzer sounded, it was the Bears that got the win, handing the Gobblers their first district loss of the season with a final score of 69-56. 01/28/2025 12:40 PM

The Yorktown Kitty Kats and Wildcats Varsity Basketball teams hosted Woodsboro on January 14, 2025, in District 31-2A action and delivered decisive victories to extend their district winning streaks to three games.
