Football family making special memories this season
A unique dynamic takes to the field each week for the Wildcats. Brothers Ryan Knostman Jr. and Brayden Knostman are getting the special experience of playing on the field alongside each other under Friday Night Lights. Ryan Knostman Jr. is a returning starter for the Wildcats and his younger brother, sophomore Brayden Knostman debuted his abilities for the varsity squad this year. To add to the dynamic both brothers are playing under the tutelage of their father Ryan Knostman the current athletic director and head football coach.

Kats beat Falls City, tie for District
Tuesday, Oct 15 the Kitty Kats hosted the Falls City Beaverettes for the start of the second round of district play and senior night. The seniors for the team include: Brilye Campbell, Braleigh Dodds, Audrena Hernandez, Sydnie Krueger, Madalyn Rowlands, Malayshia Thomas, and Nina Villarreal.

Wildcats defeather the Pettus Eagles for Homecoming
Friday, Oct 11 the Wildcats hosted the Pettus Eagles for their homecoming matchup. Two fumbles and an interception kept the Eagles in the game early on, but the Wildcats amassed a hefty lead by halftime, 42-19.

Game preview: District away game Yorktown vs Charlotte
The Wildcats will have their first away district game on Friday, Oct. 18 in Charlotte against the Trojans. Charlotte had a preseason record of 1-4, accumulating a victory against Compass Rose Legacy (540) after falling to SAC (30-16), Woodsboro (34-0), Centerpoint (42-6), and St. Anthony (33-14).

Going Old School
I’ve been fortunate to visit some of the very best largemouth bass lakes in the world, and I’m thankful that so many of those trips came at a time when fishing was still fishing. Not the video game it has become for so many since the evolution of high-tech electronics like forward-facing sonar, monster screens and other game changing goodies.

Gobblers prevail with new quarterback, strong defense
With Jaxxon Marie out, the Gobblers are taking the next man up approach and have turned the offense over to Jayce Guajardo. The sophomore responded by going 6 of 10 for 175 yards and 2 touchdowns, propelling the Gobbler’s second half comeback against the Harlingen Cardinals on Friday night.
